Venezuela to house the Caribbean Ad Hoc Tourism Committee

The Ninth Meeting of the Ad Hoc Sustainable Tourism Committee attached to the Association of Caribbean States will take place in the Venezuelan state of Merida from Nov. 13 to 14 with a view to uphold an agreement that gives the go-ahead to the creation of a Caribbean sustainable zone.

The Foreign Affairs Coordination Office under the leadership of Venezuelan Tourism Vice Minister Maria Carlota Guerrero noted such an agreement was signed during the Third Summit of Heads of State held in 2001.

Mrs. Guerrero confirmed the attendance of Venezuela’s vice minister of commerce, Dalila Monserrat, who will hail international attendants to the meeting.

Venezuela is now holding the sitting chairmanship of that Caribbean Committee.

The committee also counts on the membership of Jamaica, Antigua & Barbuda, Dominique, Grenada, Santa Lucia, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Guyana, Haiti, Surinam and Trinidad & Tobago.
