WINAIR Scraps Fuel Surcharges
Effective March 1, 2016, all passengers travelling on Windward Islands Airways (WINAIR) will benefit in lower ticket prices with the elimination of all fuel surcharges on flights operated by WINAIR.
With world fuel prices at record lows, WINAIR will eliminate fuel surcharges for passengers and cargo on WINAIR’s network. WINAIR reduced fuel charges six months previously in accordance with lower fuel costs for the airline and with the current fuel prices WINAIR will no longer be required to collect fuel surcharges to cover these additional costs.
WINAIR is a government owned regional airline and was founded in 1961. The airline operates five de Havilland Twin-Otter aircraft and 1 ATR-42 500/600 aircraft. WINAIR offers connections from its main gateway, Princess Juliana International Airport in St Maarten to the islands of Saba, St Eustatius, St Barth, Nevis and St Kitts, Tortola, Antigua, San Juan, Dominica and Guadeloupe.
