Starting September 2, 2025, key U.S. carriers—including United Airlines, Southwest, and American Airlines—are reducing or canceling services to Cuban destinations like Havana, Santiago de Cuba, Holguin, and Santa Clara.

These changes are tied to seasonal demand shifts and broader U.S.–Cuba travel restrictions, which still limit tourism to humanitarian and educational categories.

United will halt all service between Houston and Havana until at least summer 2026. Southwest will scale back Tampa–Havana service, and American has filed to reduce its Miami routes to Cuba.

JetBlue had already ended all Cuba routes in 2023, leaving only Delta among major U.S. carriers still flying there.
The timing intensifies limitations on American travelers planning Caribbean winters and contributes to growing uncertainty in the region’s air access.

Travel professionals warn that this shift could push tourism demand toward other Caribbean destinations less affected by political dynamics.
