The World´s 95th Habano House Opens in Havana´s Meliá Cohiba Hotel

The 95th Habano House, owned by the world-class franchise, has just opened in Havana´s Meliá Cohiba Hotel. The new cigar shrine is penciled in as one of the fanciest houses ever built by the company around the globe.

During the grand opening that took place over the weekend, attendants to the ceremony praised the finesse of the decoration, its roomy halls and well-stashed warehouses treasuring 33 trademarks and 240 brands.

This Habano House will open seven days a week from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, but unlike its predecessors, it´s operating as a Smokers´ Club from the word go.

Opened in 1995, the Meliá Cohiba Hotel continues to be one of Cuba´s flagship lodgings. The establishment dominates Havana´s Malecon Avenue and offers a spectacular view of the city.

Meliá´s own Habano House features cigar booths, reading halls, VIP area, a bar and a store spruced up by Cuban artist Flora Fong´s paintings and works. The whole place features a very intimate atmosphere.

The opening ceremony, attended by Habanos S.A. Cochairman Fernando Dominguez, served as a perfect setting to welcome Diego Garcia, chief of Universo Stores for the Meliá Cohiba Hotel.
