World Tourism Organization to Host Conference on Tourism Safety

The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) will host an International Conference on Tourism Safety, which includes the topics of Partnerships for Tourism Safety and Security in the Middle East and North Africa

The conclave will be held from June 26 to 27 in Egypt’s Cairo organized by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the Ministry of Tourism of Egypt

The Conference will focus on five areas integrated approach to tourism safety and security, protecting tourism from terrorism and political violence, responding to the threat of an avian influenza pandemic, improving air transport safety and security and crisis recovery.

The Conference aims at promoting partnerships, strengthening risk assessment and crisis management capabilities of national tourism administrations in the region, preventing the risks of political violence and terrorist attacks on tourists, and responding to public health emergencies of international concern, such as the Avian influenza pandemic threat.
