United Airlines announced today that it plans on furloughing 16,370 employees, come October 1, when the federal government’s CARES Act payroll protections expire.
This could be the final boarding call for the $200 ticket-change fee that has enraged so many U.S. airline travelers over the past decade.

Avianca has announced it will start flying on 1 September in Colombia. It will begin with 14 domestic routes and a fleet of 20 planes
Canadian low-cost carrier Swoop will be relaunching its service in Toronto beginning in October, the company said this week in a press release.
