JetBlue Airways on May 14 announced plans to add a new destination to its expanding Latin America and Caribbean network. The airline intends to launch service to Quito, Ecuador's Mariscal Sucre International Airport (UIO) with once daily service from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).

Spirit Airlines joined the Houston Airport System's (HAS) growing list of international airline partners with the launch of its first of several new flights to Latin America from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).

Azul Brazilian Airlines will debut first-ever nonstop flight to Belo Horizonte from Orlando. This Brazilian carrier is expanding its service between the U.S. and Brazil, with a new route to Belo Horizonte, the first-ever nonstop flight on the route, starting November 16, 2015.

Aeromexico, Mexico's global airline, started serving a new daily flight between Toronto and Mexico City as of May 4, 2015, becoming the second route it serves in Canada.

LAN Airlines has added the first 787-9 aircraft in Latin America to its fleet. The 787-9 is an extended version of the 787-8, capable of transporting 27 percent more passengers and 23 percent more cargo. The Company will receive six Boeing 787-9 aircraft in 2015.

Starting July 3, 2015, InselAir, the largest Caribbean-based carrier, will start two flights per week, on Monday and Friday, to Havana, its 23rd destination.
