Crystal Cruises announced the completion of a $65 million, five-year plan to redesign and renovate each room aboard the company’s 922-passenger Crystal Symphony. The redesigned public spaces include the Avenue Saloon, which now features rich mahogany-paneled walls and leather upholstery.

Luxury Silversea Cruises, which already offers expeditions to the polar regions, will add the Galapagos Islands to its list of destinations with the acquisition of an Ecuadorian tourism company and ship.

Carnival announced major changes to its loyalty program for repeat cruisers. Effective later this month, the newly named Very Important Fun Person Club will be divided into five levels and entry into the tiers will be now based on the days a customer has sailed with the line.
