The 2011/12 cruise season was officially inaugurated this week in Buenos Aires with the arrival from Venice of ‘Opera’ with 1.900 passengers. The cruise vessel belongs to the Italian company MSC and most tourists are Argentines, as well as French, Italian, German and Brazilians.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises is offering two-for-one fares, bonus savings and free air on 10- and 11-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises.

Royal Caribbean International will install iPad mobile digital devices in every stateroom onboard the newly revitalized Splendour of the Seas. The touch-screen tablet will let guests access the daily Cruise Compass of events and activities as well as personal daily itineraries, including shore excursions.

Royal Caribbean International will transform the Centrum on its Vision-Class ships beginning with Splendour of the Seas. The Centrum, located in the center of the ships, will become a venue featuring day-time activities, nightly entertainment and aerial spectacles. The Centrum’s Champagne Bar also will be reinvented into the R Bar with a 1960s vibe and signature cocktails.

Royal Caribbean International’s Mariner of the Seas arrives in Galveston, Texas, today, Nov. 11, while Voyager of the Seas enters New Orleans and Jewel of the Seas enters Tampa on Nov. 12. The three ships will operate from the Gulf of Mexico ports seasonally through April.

Royal Caribbean International’s Splendour of the Seas will end its revitalization on Nov 25, 2011, with more than twice the number of dining options previously available to guests. The enhancements include a variety of new restaurants first introduced aboard Oasis-class ships.
