Some 9,000 companies from 165 countries are attending the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Spain, which opened today and will run through January 26 at the fairgrounds in Madrid. The organizers said in a press conference that the exhibition will reach 54,000 square meters, down some 2,000 square meters from 2013.

The presentation of the 2013 UNWTO Awards, a Ministerial Debate on the future of tourism in the Middle East and North Africa and a business-to-business event connecting African tourism companies with Spanish and Portuguese counterparts are among the many UNWTO activities planned for the International Tourism Trade Fair, FITUR (Madrid, Spain, 22-26 January 2014).

Cuba will attend the 34th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR 2014), slated for January 22-26 at the traditional venue of Ferias de Madrid in the Spanish capital. This time around, the Cuban delegation is determined to strengthen ties with Spanish partners that operate travel resorts on the island nation.

The United States, which sent nearly a million tourists to Spain over the first ten months of the year 2013, will attend FITUR 2014 in a bid to present its marvelous natural heritage, its most important cities and the charms of the different neighborhoods and districts that make up some of the best-known cities in the world, such as New York.

IFEMA organizes the 34th International Tourism Show, FITUR, January 22-26, which in this edition will be making emphasis on technological innovations as revitalizing and developing lever for the travel industry.

The colors, tastes, accents and music of Latin America were seen and heard again at the FITUR tourism fair in Madrid. The Latin American countries brought the best that they have to FITUR, making their presentations with a combination of traditional, new and ingenious promotional formulas aimed at attracting the attention of tour operators and the public.
