Marriott International has revealed plans to open 2,700 Moxy hotel rooms in key cities throughout Europe by end 2016.  With a goal of 150 Moxy hotels and 25,000 rooms by 2020, the company expects to sign at least 4,200 rooms in 2015 alone. 

InterContinental Hotels Group is signing of a new-build Holiday Inn Express hotel in Belem, Brazil. Slated to open mid-2016, the 128-room property will be IHG’s third property in the city, joining the Crowne Plaza Belem hotel and Holiday Inn Express Belem Ananindeua hotel.

The average price paid for a hotel room around the world rose by three percent during 2014 compared with 2013, according to the latest Hotels.com Hotel Price Index (HPI). However, the Caribbean reported four percent index growth. The global HPI stood at 113 at the end of 2014.

Apple Leisure Group subsidiary AMResorts announced the signing of the company’s third deal in the first quarter of 2015. Secrets Papagayo Resort & Spa will also be the second property for the company in Costa Rica.
