Hyatt Hotels Corporation H, PRISA Group and McConnell Valdés Consulting today announced the groundbreaking for Puerto Rico’s fourth Hyatt-branded select service hotel, the $29.7 million Hyatt Place San Juan.

Its 60 rooms and suites are spread throughout the 13th to 17th floors, affording sweeping views of the city’s dramatic skyline through floor to ceiling windows, which can also be enjoyed from the hotel’s lap pool perched on the twelfth floor.

Hyatt’s first-ever all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica are set to open Nov. 23, according to the company. The Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall, an adults-only property, and the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall, are set at the former site of the Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall.

Melia Hotels International launched Melia Pro, a new portal for travel agents that features a booking engine, guaranteed Melia.com rates and up to 16 percent commission. Melia had an agent portal prior to this launch, but it lacked the booking features.
