Booking.com Introduces New AI-Powered Features for Smarter Travel Planning
Booking.com has launched enhanced AI features to streamline travel planning, including Smart Filter, Property Q&A, and Review Summaries, designed to help users quickly find ideal accommodations and make informed booking decisions.
The Smart Filter tool lets travelers specify their preferences in their own words, like “Hotels in Amsterdam with a gym, rooftop bar, and canal views.” Booking.com’s AI then matches these preferences across its listings, simplifying the search process and eliminating manual filtering steps.
Property Q&A allows travelers to ask specific questions, such as, "Are there EV charging stations?" or "Does the hotel accept large dogs?" The AI retrieves relevant information from listings, reviews, and photos to provide clear, consolidated answers, aiding confident booking choices.
Booking.com is also testing Review Summaries, which distill essential insights from reviews, focusing on features like parking or accessibility, allowing travelers to review key aspects without reading extensive feedback.
Currently, Smart Filter and Property Q&A are available in the U.S., U.K., Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore, with Review Summaries soon to follow after further testing.
Since introducing the AI Trip Planner in June 2023, Booking.com has expanded its reach to several countries, with a desktop version and wider language support planned. The Trip Planner helps travelers plan itineraries, ask about destinations, and navigate their trips, meeting the demand for AI-driven, curated travel solutions.
