SONIFI Partners with LG to Launch Hospitality TVs with Built-in Google Cast

LG

Leading global guest technology provider SONIFI Solutions continues to innovate in the hospitality industry with the development of a new commercial-grade enterprise casting solution in collaboration with Google and LG Electronics.

This cutting-edge solution integrates Google Cast software directly into LG's smart hotel TVs, allowing guests to stream content from their personal devices without needing additional hardware. Compatible with both Android and iOS, this feature offers a seamless viewing experience across all operating systems.

Michael Kosla, Senior Vice President at LG Business Solutions USA, highlighted the operational efficiencies and guest convenience this innovation brings. "With embedded casting, it's one less device to install, configure, manage, and monitor in the guest room," he said.

Similar to SONIFI's current casting solution, STAYCAST, the new system enables guests to pair their mobile devices with the TV using a QR code, allowing them to stream content from thousands of apps without entering credentials on the TV. SONIFI's patented device isolation technology ensures guests can only cast to the TVs in their room, with secure pairing automatically disconnected at checkout.

Kara Heermans, SONIFI's Senior Vice President of User Experience and Product Management, expressed enthusiasm about the new solution. "We're excited to launch a simple casting deployment option with the security, reliability, and ease of use hotels and guests expect. It's a great experience for both staff and guests, who still receive 24/7 support from SONIFI, just like with STAYCAST today."

Since its debut in 2016, SONIFI's STAYCAST casting solution has been deployed in over 500,000 rooms worldwide. As an early adoption partner, SONIFI will begin deploying LG smart TVs with built-in Google Cast this fall.

Heermans emphasized the significance of the partnership. "With the combined expertise of LG, Google, and SONIFI, we have made a real advancement in efficiently and reliably delivering the in-room entertainment guests want most. This partnership has been a true collaboration, and we're excited to see it evolve into continued innovation for the hospitality industry as a whole."
