Discover Puerto Rico Launches “My Home, My Christmas”

Discover Puerto Rico has launched “My Home, My Christmas”, an immersive digital experience inviting global audiences to explore the unique Christmas traditions of the island through interactive storytelling, traditional recipes, and the celebration of family bonds. The initiative aims to bring Puerto Rico’s festive culture closer to international travelers through an innovative and highly accessible digital format.

Recognized for hosting one of the longest Christmas seasons in the world, Puerto Rico celebrates from late November until January 18, culminating with the iconic Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián. The new platform allows users to immerse themselves in the warmth, joy, and cultural heritage of these celebrations, strengthening the destination’s positioning as one of the most authentic in the Caribbean.

Inspired by an original, illustrated storybook by a local artist, the project features a bilingual digital audiobook (Spanish–English) enhanced with immersive ambient sounds such as the song of the coquí frog, family laughter, and traditional musical instruments, creating a fully atmospheric experience. This is complemented by a bilingual e-book that tells the story of two sisters rediscovering the true meaning of Christmas on the island.

The digital journey also includes downloadable recipe cards inspired by a traditional Puerto Rican Christmas Eve dinner, featuring iconic dishes like asopao, arroz con gandules, and traditional drinks such as coquito, enabling users to recreate the festive flavors in their own homes.

This initiative reflects the strong commitment of Discover Puerto Rico to cultural preservation and the sharing of stories passed down through generations, using technology as a bridge to create a deeper emotional connection between travelers and the destination.

Developed in collaboration with renowned local artists Mundo Nana & Nina and illustrator Waldemar Lozada, “My Home, My Christmas” offers a virtual window into a Puerto Rican home during the festive season, reinforcing the island’s international promotion during one of its most meaningful times of the year.
