Jamaica Tourist Board Celebrates 70 Years

The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) is celebrating a major milestone in 2025 — 70 years of promoting Jamaica as one of the Caribbean’s leading travel destinations. Since its founding in 1955, the JTB has played a key role in showcasing the island’s culture, music, and warm hospitality to the world.
Marking the anniversary, the JTB is renewing its focus on innovation, inclusivity, and tapping into long-haul markets, particularly high-growth regions like India. The organization aims to meet evolving global travel trends while honoring its legacy in destination marketing.
In line with this vision, the JTB has partnered with Spain’s Palladium Hotel Group to expand Jamaica’s luxury tourism offerings. The hotel group is making a multi-million-dollar investment to enhance high-end, all-inclusive experiences on the island, appealing to affluent international travelers.
The move is especially significant for the Indian outbound travel market, which is seeing increased demand for luxury and honeymoon travel to long-haul destinations. The partnership aims to position Jamaica as a top choice for Indian travelers seeking unique, high-quality vacation experiences.
Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett will also represent Jamaica at the upcoming Inter-American Congress of Tourism Ministers in Washington, D.C. His participation highlights Jamaica’s leadership in tourism policy and its commitment to regional collaboration and sustainable growth.
