Air Canada Announces Winter Direct Flights to Guadeloupe

Air Canada has confirmed the launch of seasonal direct service to Guadeloupe, operating from Toronto starting December 20, 2025, through April 30, 2026. The route will be flown using Boeing 737 MAX aircraft with 169 seats, providing a new entry point for Canadian travelers to the French Caribbean.
In addition to Toronto, the service will complement existing direct connections from Montreal, and collaborations with carriers like Air France and Air Transat are expected to enhance Guadeloupe’s connectivity during the winter months. A seasonal route from Quebec City is also slated to begin in February 2026.
Tourism officials in Guadeloupe highlighted that the new direct routes aim to open up access for Canadian markets, reducing reliance on connecting flights and making the islands more competitive in the winter Caribbean circuit.
The move is expected to stimulate visitor arrivals, hotel bookings, and ancillary spending in areas such as gastronomy, excursions, and local crafts. Air connectivity is often one of the key constraints for island destinations; improving it can unlock growth.
Air Canada’s entry to Guadeloupe underscores the increasing interest of major North American carriers in expanding service to lesser-served Caribbean markets. The island will have to ensure infrastructure, immigration processing, and marketing support are up to par.
If the route performs well, Guadeloupe may benefit from stronger Canadian visitation in future seasons, further diversifying its source markets and boosting winter tourism performance.
