Air Europa on Verge on Peaking 13 Million Passengers in 2019
Air Europa is close to 13 million passengers by 2019, after the air division of the Globalia tourism group plans to close the current financial year with 1.3 million more passengers than last year.
This figure confirms the airline's upward trend in recent years, which has resulted in a 26% increase in passenger traffic over the last five years.
The uptick in passenger flow during 2019 has been notable both in the long-range and, mainly, in European flights, which have recorded a growth of approximately 20% and have recorded peaks in occupancy close to 90%.
In similar terms, the year will also close in terms of domestic traffic, in which more than 2.5 million seats have been offered with an average occupation of 80%.
Air Europa's commitment to its business class, which since the end of the year has been reinforced with the arrival of the new Dreamlines equipped with the new cabin with a 1-2-1 configuration, has also meant an increase of more than 20% in business passengers, both in long-haul and medium-haul operations.
In the same way, the new routes have shown a very positive balance and it has been a year of consolidation of the destinations opened in 2018, such as Düsseldorf, Venice or Quito. Air Europa's growth in North Africa and the occupation of the new summer routes have also contributed to bringing the airline to the doorstep of 13 million passengers.
