Anguilla Bolsters Winter Connectivity with Expanded North American Airlift
The island of Anguilla is set to welcome a surge of visitors this coming winter season, bolstered by a significant expansion of air service from key gateways in the United States and Canada.
Under the AnguillAir brand, BermudAir has announced a robust new schedule that promises to enhance accessibility to the destination’s renowned 33 beaches, upscale culinary landscape, and signature "barefoot luxury" experience. This strategic increase in flight frequency reflects a growing demand for premium Caribbean travel and marks a new chapter in the island's international tourism reach.
A centerpiece of this winter’s expansion is the introduction of a new Canadian route, connecting Toronto Pearson International Airport to Anguilla. Starting December 19, travelers will benefit from weekly Saturday service operating through May 1, 2027. This connection, which includes a convenient stop in Providenciales, is expected to provide a crucial link for Canadian travelers seeking an escape from the northern winter, further diversifying the island's source markets and strengthening tourism ties between these territories.
In addition to the Canadian expansion, the airline is increasing service frequencies across several vital U.S. markets. Travelers from Boston and Newark will enjoy twice-weekly nonstop flights, while those flying from Baltimore-Washington will benefit from a mix of nonstop and direct services. Furthermore, the island is introducing a new twice-weekly route from Tampa/St. Petersburg via Providenciales. These flights will be operated using modern Embraer E190 aircraft, a move designed to enhance passenger comfort with a two-class cabin configuration that notably excludes middle seats.
The announcement comes as Anguilla continues to hold its position as a top-tier destination, recently earning induction into the Travel + Leisure Hall of Fame following a decade of consistent recognition in the magazine’s World’s Best Awards. Local officials, including the Minister of Infrastructure and the Minister of Tourism, have lauded this development as a win for the local economy. They emphasize that enhanced connectivity not only provides travelers with greater choice and convenience but also serves as a catalyst for growth, offering significant opportunities for local business owners and the hospitality sector at large.
Adam Scott, Founder and CEO of BermudAir, highlighted that the expansion is rooted in the success of the service’s inaugural season and reflects the company's commitment to becoming the premium leisure carrier for North America. By integrating these routes into a broader, multi-island network, the airline aims to connect U.S. travelers to some of the most sought-after Caribbean destinations with high levels of customer satisfaction. This expansion is part of a larger, coordinated effort to ensure that the island remains a premier, authentic, and accessible choice for discerning travelers.
As the tourism industry continues to evolve, this commitment to increasing airlift underscores the resilience of Anguilla’s brand in an increasingly competitive market. By making the island more accessible during the peak winter months, the region is positioning itself to capitalize on the sustained interest in uncrowded, high-quality travel experiences. For those planning their winter getaways, the expanded flight schedule provides a clearer path to experiencing the island's unique charm, reinforcing its enduring appeal as a cornerstone of Caribbean tourism excellence.
