Turkish Airlines to Launch Operations at JFK’s New Terminal One

Turkish Airlines has announced its upcoming move to the New Terminal One at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), scheduled to open in 2026.
The airline will unveil an 11,000-square-foot world-class lounge, marking the next phase of its growth at JFK, its top U.S. gateway. This expansion aligns with JFK's $19 billion transformation project by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to create a world-class airport experience.
Enhanced Passenger Experience
The New Terminal One, set to become the largest international terminal in the U.S., will feature cutting-edge amenities and innovative technology for seamless travel. Turkish Airlines’ new lounge will offer premium amenities, direct boarding access, and expansive airfield views, doubling the size of its current JFK lounge. This development underscores the airline’s commitment to providing exceptional service for its business class passengers and frequent flyers.
Turkish Airlines’ Global Excellence
Operating 19 weekly flights from JFK to Istanbul, Turkish Airlines offers connections to 351 destinations globally, including 25 in the Americas. The airline has earned accolades such as the APEX World Class Award for four consecutive years and the Skytrax title of "Best Airline in Europe" nine times. Turkish Airlines joins Star Alliance partners LOT Polish Airlines, EVA Air, and Air China at the New Terminal One.
Statements of Commitment
Jennifer Aument, CEO of the New Terminal One, stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Turkish Airlines to our terminal, where their focus on world-class service aligns with our mission to redefine the customer experience.” Prof. Ahmet Bolat, Turkish Airlines Chairman, highlighted the airline’s U.S. market growth, saying, “Our state-of-the-art lounge will elevate our passengers’ experience, reaffirming our commitment to excellence.”
Expanding Airline Partnerships
The New Terminal One will host several global carriers, including Air France, KLM, Etihad, Korean Air, SAS, and Philippine Airlines, alongside Star Alliance members. The terminal will enhance capacity for widebody aircraft, providing airlines with new opportunities to expand their international services at JFK, one of the world’s busiest gateways.
This milestone marks a significant step for Turkish Airlines and JFK Airport, promising travelers a transformed and elevated journey starting in 2026.
