Oceania Cruises Unveils the Next Chapter in Its Culinary Story

Oceania Cruises, renowned for its culinary and destination-focused voyages, has unveiled new relaxed yet refined dining venues aboard its eight luxurious ships. Highlighting this evolution are new sushi and Indian cuisine offerings at the Terrace Café and a revamped poolside lunch menu at Waves Grill, redefining The Finest Cuisine at Sea.
Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises, emphasized the centrality of food in their operations: "Food is the foundation of what we do on board each of our ships and globally, in the destinations we visit. The Finest Cuisine at Sea is not always about fancy settings; it's about quality and enjoyment, whether it's a perfectly prepared pizza or a burrata dish enjoyed al fresco."
Bernhard Klotz, Vice President of Food and Beverage, noted the simplicity and innovation at the heart of their cuisine: "The perfect combination of an innovative culinary team, the freshest ingredients, and our food-centric ships creates the magic. Our goal is to ensure every meal brings joy to our guests, from poolside sundaes to exquisite soufflés."
The Terrace Café now features a daily sushi station and an Indian Corner, expanding its array of international cuisines. The sushi station, curated by Executive Culinary Directors Chefs Alex Quaretti and Eric Barale, offers 45 new recipes, including sashimi, uramaki, nigiri, and vegetarian options. The Indian Corner, available once per cruise during dinner, features 15 authentic recipes, including popular dishes like butter chicken and dhal.
Chef Alex remarked on the cultural diversity of their staff: "Our staff's global backgrounds enrich our offerings. Creating the new Indian dishes, with recipes handed down through generations, is a privilege. These dishes are already popular with our guests."
Waves Grill, the poolside lunch venue, has also been revamped. It now offers over 20 revised options, including a variety of cold and hot sandwiches and burgers. Signature items include the Surf & Turf Wagyu burger and the Philly Cheesesteak hot sandwich, served with a choice of French or sweet potato fries.
Chef Alex highlighted the dining experience at these venues: "Guests can savor the ritual and theater of dining without being rushed. These are not 'fast' food options; it's a relaxed, refined experience in a different setting."
Looking ahead, Chefs Alex and Eric plan to unveil new dishes across the fleet, including in the pan-Asian venue Red Ginger and during exclusive wine pairing luncheons. They are also preparing for the launch of the new ship, Allura, with exciting plans for all dining venues.
Oceania Cruises continues to redefine The Finest Cuisine at Sea, ensuring each dining experience is a celebration of culinary excellence and guest satisfaction.
