The future of ultra-luxury maritime travel reached a historic milestone today in Saint-Nazaire, France, with the official naming of the Orient Express Corinthian.

Christened at the Joubert graving dock, this vessel is being hailed as the world’s largest sailing yacht, blending 19th-century elegance with 21st-century propulsion technology.

The 220-meter-long yacht utilizes a revolutionary SolidSail system, featuring three tiltable masts and rigid sails that allow the vessel to harness wind power for up to 100% of its propulsion under ideal conditions.

The creation of the Corinthian is a mechanical necessity for the Orient Express brand as it seeks to translate its legendary rail heritage to the high seas.

The yacht features 54 suites, including a massive 1,415-square-meter Presidential Suite, designed to provide an "unmatched level of privacy and opulence." By utilizing hybrid-hydrogen power alongside its sails, the vessel is positioned as a pioneer in sustainable luxury, proving that extreme comfort does not have to come at the expense of the environment.

The Corinthian represents the ultimate "slow travel" experience. The yacht is designed to visit exclusive Mediterranean and Caribbean ports that are inaccessible to traditional cruise ships, offering a boutique atmosphere that prioritizes cultural immersion and wellness.

The inclusion of onboard amphitheaters, recording studios, and Michelin-level dining ensures that the Orient Express experience remains consistent whether on the tracks of Europe or the waters of the Amalfi Coast.
