Port of Seville Launches New Megayacht and Cruise Terminal
Global Ports Holding (GPH) and Ocean Platform Marinas formally inaugurated a new cruise and megayacht terminal at the Port of Seville today.
The €5 million project involves the development of the Tablada Wharf, which will now serve as the primary gateway for medium-sized cruise ships and ultra-luxury megayachts entering the inland Spanish city. By moving commercial cruise operations to Tablada, the city is freeing up the Delicias Wharf to become a dedicated marina for the world’s largest private yachts
This infrastructure upgrade is a mechanical necessity for Seville as it seeks to strengthen the link between its maritime gateway and its historic urban center. The new terminal is located within the Port Urban District, designed to provide arriving passengers with immediate access to the city’s cultural and culinary attractions.
The 25-year concession agreement ensures that Seville will remain a competitive stop for boutique cruise lines that prefer the intimacy of inland river ports over massive coastal terminals.
The new terminal offers a more refined and efficient entry into Andalusia. The facility features dedicated concierge services for megayacht owners and a modernized passenger lounge for cruise guests. As Seville continues to grow as a premier destination for high-yield tourism, this new terminal provides the "critical infrastructure" needed to support a fleet of increasingly sophisticated and large vessels that require specialized berthing and logistics.
