Capitalizing on the booming demand for "multigenerational adventures" in Asia, Royal Caribbean International officially announced today that the Quantum of the Seas will return to its homeport in Singapore for the 2027-28 season.

The move marks a strategic doubling-down on the Southeast Asian cruise market, offering a range of 3-to-10-night itineraries that connect Singapore with iconic destinations in Thailand, Vietnam, and Japan. By positioning one of its "game-changing" Quantum-class ships in the region year-round, the line aims to capture the growing "fly-cruise" segment of travelers coming from Europe and North America.

The 2027-28 season will feature several "extended journeys" of up to 10 nights, allowing guests to explore deeper into Ho Chi Minh City and Hong Kong, with a special focus on "heritage-rich" ports in Japan like Nagoya and Kobe.

These longer sailings are designed for travelers who want to blend "onboard thrills"—such as the North Star observation capsule and the Ripcord by iFly—with cultural immersion on land. This "hybrid experience" is a direct response to the 2026 traveler’s desire for vacations that offer both "high-energy entertainment and authentic discovery."

Royal Caribbean’s vice president for the Asia-Pacific, Chad Grospe, noted that the ship has become a "familiar and much-loved" icon for guests in the region, providing a "consistent and reliable" luxury product. The announcement also highlights the "economic resilience" of the Singapore cruise hub, which has managed to maintain its growth trajectory despite the broader "volatility in the global travel sector."
