CTO to Chart the Future of Caribbean Tourism at SOTIC 2025

The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) has opened registration for the 2025 State of the Tourism Industry Conference (SOTIC), set for September 30 to October 3 at the Hilton Barbados Resort. Under the theme “Reimagining Caribbean Tourism: Research, Relevance and the Road Ahead”, the event will gather regional leaders, industry experts, and global partners to shape the next chapter of Caribbean travel.

Hosted in collaboration with the Barbados Ministry of Tourism and International Transport and Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., SOTIC 2025 will feature high-level panels, data-driven research presentations, and practical strategies for growth in sectors such as sports tourism, wellness tourism, cruise travel, and improved regional airlift.

One of the marquee sessions, “Caribbean Tourism: Trends, Truths and Trajectories”, will be led by CTO’s Research Department, offering an evidence-based look at performance trends, market dynamics, and future forecasts for the region’s tourism industry.

A Ministerial Exchange on Caribbean Tourism will bring together policymakers and business leaders to discuss sustainable development, inter-island cooperation, and strategies for boosting both regional and international connectivity.

Additional program highlights include:

  • The Stay-Over Market: Driving Growth in Caribbean Tourism – Presented by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association
     
  • A Holistic Approach to Tourism: Uniting Cruise and Hotel Sectors for Destination-Wide Success – Presented by the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association
     
  • Emerging opportunities in medical tourism, sports tourism, and wellness travel
     
  • Market insights from the U.S., Canada, Latin America, and EMEA regions
     

On October 2, CTO will also host the Regional Tourism Youth Congress, spotlighting young tourism ambassadors from across member states.
