World-class market research firms will be at WTM London and Travel Forward to reveal their insights and forecasts about the future of travel in a post-pandemic world.

As borders around the world reopen for international tourism, professionals from across the global travel industry will reunite physically once more at ExCeL London on 1-3 November 2021.

As well as WTM's own annual Industry Report, which looks at key consumer and trade trends, there will be wide-ranging, in-depth market research presented by leading specialists such as Euromonitor, ForwardKeys and Oxford Economics.

The opening conference of WTM London will unveil the annual WTM London Industry Report 2021.

Taking place on the WTM Global Stage on Monday, 1 November, the report will set the agenda for conversations and negotiations that will be taking place on the exhibition floor.

Using comprehensive surveys carried out among UK holidaymakers and trade professionals, it gauges sentiment in the market about attitudes to travel, plans for 2022, sustainability and technology.

Well-known travel expert Simon Calder – a journalist and a regular guest on national TV and radio – will be the moderator for the session which will analyse the findings and set the scene for discussions over the three days of WTM. Later the same day, ForwardKeys will present 'New Markets, New Opportunities – The new paradigm to post-Covid travel'.

ForwardKeys crunches and analyses airline booking transactions every day in order to share the latest industry trends and insights to build a picture of who is travelling where, when and for how long.

Taking place on the Travel Forward Stage, the session will showcase positive examples of destinations that are forging ahead with their recovery.

It will be hosted by Juan Gomez, Head of Market Intelligence at ForwardKeys, who can offer tips about finding the right markets and using data to get a clearer vision of the post-Covid travel landscape.

Further insights will be revealed on the second day of WTM, thanks to Oxford Economics – a leader in global forecasting and quantitative analysis.

David Goodger, Managing Director - Europe and Middle East at Oxford Economics, will be joining a panel on the WTM Global Stage for the session entitled 'Fixing travel's broken business model for 2022'.

Organised by Travel Perspective, the session will include research findings from Oxford Economics – along with comments about costs, competitive pressures and capacity from Julia Lo Bue-Said, Chief Executive at Advantage Travel Partnership, and Sophie Dekkers, Chief Commercial Officer at easyJet.

Another traditional highlight for WTM London is the annual Euromonitor International report.

This year, it will be presented on Wednesday 3 November on the WTM Global Stage, during a session called 'Travel Rewired: Innovation strategies for a Resilient Recovery'.

Caroline Bremner, Head of Travel Research at Euromonitor, will return to WTM to present the market research specialist's report about tourism forecasts, consumer preferences and priorities across digitalisation, sustainability, health and wellbeing for key regions.

She will focus on innovative ways that travel businesses are navigating the new normal, showcasing best practice through case studies across Europe, the Americas, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.

Euromonitor will also reflect the calls from consumers and campaigners to take heed of the climate emergency and ensure a sustainable, resilient recovery.
