FlightAware Introduces Free iPhone Flight Tracking App

FlightAware, which has more than 2 million monthly users using it for flight tracking, has released an application for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.

Available for free download via the Apple App Store, users are able to track the real-time status and position of airline and private flights in the United States.

Included with the application is a full-screen tracking map that includes aircraft position, speed, altitude and NEXRAD weather. It tracks airline and commercial flights and private and corporate flights.

It searches by airline name, flight number, origin and destination, or aircraft registration, has a full-screen map of live aircraft position, altitude, speed (with NEXRAD weather) and views routing, delays, and other flight information.
