Caribbean Tourism Executive Marie Walker Dead at 58
Marie Walker, a longtime Caribbean tourism executive, died recently in Fort Lauderdale. She was 58.
The Jamaican-born Walker worked in the Caribbean tourism industry for 40 years. During her career, she served as director of the Anguilla Tourist Board and was vice president of sales and marketing for the Antigua and Barbuda Ministry of Tourism and Investment.
Most recently she was principal of Turnstyle Marketing, where she worked on projects with Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda and St. Lucia.
Walker began her career with the Jamaica Tourist Board in the Kingston headquarters and later in its New York office.
She served on several committees for the Caribbean Tourism Organization over the years and most recently was at Caribbean Week in New York.
