Mexican tourism officials said Acapulco, Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo and Taxco are back in business following the one-two punch the destination sustained from Hurricane Ingrid and Tropical Storm Manuel in mid-September.

“We are happy to report that all tourism operations in all three Sun Triangle destinations were resumed shortly following the storm as a result of the hard work and dedication of the hotels and local authorities as well as the support of President Enrique Peña Nieto and our Governor Angel Aguirre Rivero,” said Javier Aluni, the secretary of tourism for the state of Guerrero.

All three of Acapulco’s tourism zones -- Traditional, Golden and Diamond -- are fully operational and accessible by road. The Acapulco Alvarez International Airport has also resumed full operations.

For its part, Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo did not incur major damage and all its airport and hotels are fully operational. The destination is located 150 miles northwest of Acapulco. Taxco was not touched by the storms at all.
