Air France-KLM Reports Slight Traffic Increase, Some Positive Trends

Air France-KLM reported that its July traffic rose by 1.8 percent with capacity up 3.9 percent. The load factor stood at 84.4 percent, down 1.8 points. Air France-KLM recorded good progress in yield and unit revenue excluding currency impact, driven by business traffic.

The group carried 7.1 million passengers (-0.3 percent). On the Americas network, traffic rose by 4.2 percent with capacity up 5.2 percent. The load factor was maintained at the high level of 88.4 percent (-0.9 points). The Asia network saw a 2.1 percent rise in traffic with capacity up by 5.5 percent.

The load factor declined by 2.8 points but was still at the high level of 87.1 percent. On the Africa and Middle East network, traffic increased by 3.1 percent with capacity up by 2.2 percent. The load factor gained 0.7 points to 85.9 percent.

The Caribbean and Indian Ocean network saw a 4.3 percent decline in traffic with capacity up by 1.5 percent. The load factor stood at 82.8 percent (-5.0 points). On the European network, traffic declined slightly (-0.4 percent) with capacity up by 2.6 percent. The load factor fell 2.3 points to 75.8 percent.
