AMResorts announced the launch of a new, ultra-premium brand –Origins Wellness & Spa Resorts. The first property to be included in the new collection will be the Riviera Maya’s 90-room Paraiso de la Bonita, a AAA Five Diamond property that is also a member of both Leading Small Hotels of the World and Virtuoso, affiliations that will continue under AMResorts’ management of the property. Paraiso de la Bonita will officially launch as Origins Paraiso de la Bonita in December, before Christmas.

However, the property will remain open until then and even after the rebranding, the resort will remain physically unchanged. Instead, AMResorts plans to enhance Paraiso de la Bonita’s services and amenities by adding a wedding gazebo to the property as well as destination wedding, honeymoon and romance packages in order to drive more of the couples market to the resort.

Other new amenities geared toward couples, which are currently in the world include romantic dinners on the resort’s 48-foot catamaran, “La Bonita,” as well as moonlight dinners set up in the shallows of the resort’s pool.

AMResorts will also create packages that include excursions to area attractions as well as spa and wellness packages. The new label, which will join the company’s existing Secrets, Dreams and Sunscape Resorts brands, will have key attributes of romance, wellness, gourmet cuisine, cultural enrichment and entertainment and soft adventure.

With that in mind, Paraiso de la Bonita will boast a host of new activities and enrichment opportunities under AMResorts guidance. These features will include live music, visiting artists, art instruction, photography, chess tables, and cooking demonstrations, often by celebrity chefs from recognized restaurants around the world who will be invited to the property. Already, the resort has a wine cellar with 5,000 bottles and a water cellar with 15 different brands of water from around the world.

The portfolio, which is soon to include another two properties that are still in development, will be comprised of original, one-of-a-kind resorts. The properties will also focus on social responsibility, including the conservation of natural resources, protection of the surrounding environment and giving back to the local community.
