Archbishop of Boston Travels to Cuba to Join Pope for Historic Visit

The Archbishop of Boston is heading to Cuba to join Pope Francis in an historic visit. Cardinal Sean O'Malley and a group of Catholics from Boston will join the pontiff as he tours the island.

Pope Francis played a key role in getting the U.S. and Cuba to re-establish diplomatic relations earlier this year.

Cardinal O'Malley has been a trusted advisor to Pope Francis. He will accompany the pope to Washington D.C. on Tuesday, when the Pope begins his first visit to the U.S.

While the Pope is in D.C., he plans to address Congress and meet with President Obama. Later in the week, he'll speak to the United Nations in New York City and end his trip with a giant outdoor mass in Philadelphia next Sunday.
