Artex’s Cartelera Magazine with New Proposals in Each Issue

Cartelera, published by Artex’s Ediciones Cubanas, is a cultural, tourism-oriented and commercial magazine that sheds light on the monthly cultural offers of institutions in the Cuban capital city, with sections aimed at fostering different expressions of the Cuban culture.

The latest issue, No. 536, surprises us with a simple but powerful cover, and it has been dedicated to the 26th La Huella de España Festival.

The magazine’s first section, Microfono Abierto, features an exclusive interview with prima ballerina Irene Rodriguez, who is described as one of the most outstanding performers of Cuba and she has been internationally acclaimed in all styles of Spanish dance. Irene tells Cartelera about the new proposals she has prepared for the 26th La Huella de España Festival, to take place in Havana, on April 12 - 19.

La Isla Sonora section puts two proposals on the table. The first one is an interview to young singer Mayco D´Alma, who will be celebrating 15 years of artistic life on April 24, as well as the 5th anniversary of his solo project. Mayco confesses that the formula to become popular has been “perseverance, humbleness and a lot of work” and the singer announces that he will be celebrating such a significant date during a concert on May 30, Karl Marx Theater. The second article is related to the impact in Havana of concerts given this year by The Dead Daisies rock band.

Cartelera also gives readers the possibility to learn new details on two new productions of Cuban literature: El Largo y Tortuoso Camino de Los Beatles by journalist Joao Fariñas, and Emerio Medina’s La Luna en el Bolsillo. The last one was launched by Artex’s publishing company, Ediciones Cubanas, during the recent Havana International Book Fair.

Cartelera brings attractive and well-assorted proposals, and it’s going to include two new sections on its next issue: Tourism and Gourmet.

It’s important to mention the main two attractive elements: cultural offers of institutions in the Cuban capital city in terms of movies, dance, music, theater, visual arts and literature, as well as a complete and detailed map of Havana and Varadero.

That’s the reason why you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to take out a subscription for this interesting magazine. Just go to Ediciones Cubanas agency, 5th Ave. no. 9210 corner 94, Miramar, Playa, Havana, Cuba; write to cartelera@edicuba.artex.cu or dial (53)7 204 5492/7 204 5493.
