Artex’s Luis Alberto Barbería Launches “A Full” Album
Luis Alberto Barbería (www.musicalia.com) has returned to Cuba, after 20 years of work with Habana Abierta project, so as to launch his “A full” album that strengthens his position as an authentic representative of author’s song in the country.
“A full” also includes a DVD and is made up of 10 original songs, with vocal arrangements by Yudelkis Lafuente and Arlety Valdés, members of Sexto Sentido that also participated on the album.
For his production, Barbería handpicked some of the finest young Cuban musicians: keyboardist Harold López Nussa, trumpet player Julito Padrón, percussionist Rodney Barreto and guitarist Nam Sam Fong, who coproduced the phonogram, as well as his friend from Habana Abierta, Kelvis Ochoa.
Tatuaje, A full, Bolero en blanco y negro, Dibujo a crayón, Georgia, Rockotocompás, Gota de agua, Del cielo a mi vida, are some of the titles included in Barbería’s second album and the first one recorded in Cuba. He strongly believes that this is his first album because he could really be himself.
The initial presentation of the musical production, which was recorded by the Recordings and Musical Editions Company (EGREM is the Spanish acronym), took place at the National Museum of Fine Arts’ theater on Tuesday March 3, where Barbería announced that he is going to promote it throughout the country.
“A full” is an excellent album produced for people to enjoy dancing, spending some time with friends or taking a break at home, as it is also romantic. Most of the songs are love declarations for all times.
Barbería’s grave voice, combined with the “angels’ chant” of the members of Sexto Sentido, give this album unrivaled beauty.
