ARTEX Clave Cubana’s Top Act Laritza Bacallao in Full Swing

This ongoing year for young Cuban performer Laritza Bacallao, one of the top acts in the Clave Cubana agency’s catalog (www.clavecubana.com), with ARTEX, is off to a great start and a good bevy of developments bears this out.
First of all, she celebrated the 20th anniversary of her professional career on February 14, plus the fifth birthday of her new band. With those accolades in tow, she set out on a U.S. tour that, according to several digital news media, was as successful as it gets.
In early March, she performed at the Gasparilla Music Festival (GMF), a Florida-based nonprofit organization that hosts yearly events in downtown Tampa every second weekend of March. This time around the event came to a close at the Curtis Hixon Park.
According to David Cox, a founding member of the Gasparilla Music Festival’s board, “even if you’ve never heard of Bacallao, you’re going to love her music, which consists of a mixture of samba, salsa, merengue and rumba, yet with a modern touch of her own.”
Laritza’s most recent success in the U.S. came on March 31 at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, where she performed the opening act at the tribute paid to producer and songwriter Sergio George within the framework of the 22nd BMI Latin Music Awards. In this homage to George’s lifetime career, boldface names of Latin music, especially those who made it big in 2014 on both American radio and TV, attended.
This was an unforgettable moment for the Cuban performer. “I’m thankful to maestro Sergio George for this opportunity,” she wrote on her Facebook account.
There’s no doubt that the granddaughter of Rafael Bacallao’s and daughter of Ernesto Bacallao, both singers with celebrated Cuban band Aragon, is in full swing right now. She’s nominated for the Juventud 2015 Awards in the Best Tropical Artist category with her songs “Suenen los tambores” and “Carnaval”.
Laritza Bacallao is now back in Cuba and she’s planning to host an anniversary concert. Her catchy rhythm and her songs full of hope and joy are also back with her.
Laritza Bacallao and her band perform every Sunday night at the Dos Gardenias Restaurant in Miramar, Havana.
Her agency, ARTEX’s Clave Cubana, congratulates her on her major achievements.
