Bahamas Moves PR in-house

The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism terminated contracts with its international public relations and advertising agencies and plans to move all promotional work in-house.

The ministry cited a multitude of "similar contracts with high fees for work which was not always received or required," according to the Nassau Guardian.

Going forward, the ministry will contract agencies when needed on per-project basis.

The move ends ministry partnerships with firms in the U.S. and abroad, including New York-based Weber Shandwick, which handled public relations for the Bahamas for 18 years. Its contract expires at the end of November.
