Carnival to Feature Tobago on Long Cruises

The island of Tobago will be featured on a Carnival Cruise Lines itinerary for the first time, as part of an expanded list of lengthier cruises Carnival will offer in 2015-16.
Carnival said six of its ships will do 10- to 14-day voyages, up from the five- to eight-day itineraries Carnival typically offers. The 11 longer voyages will include some less-traveled ports for Carnival, including Bonaire, Martinique, Dominica and Grenada.
Deep in the southern Caribbean, Tobago will be featured on a 13-day Carnival Sunshine cruise departing roundtrip from Port Canaveral on Feb. 21, 2016. Tobago and twin island Trinidad were the original source of both calypso and steel drum music, which have become signature sounds of the Caribbean.
Carnival Miracle, Dream and Glory are among the other ships that will offer the longer itineraries. Terry Thornton, Carnival's senior vice president of itinerary planning and revenue development, said longer cruises have been in demand with Carnival guests and travel agents.
