The Dominican North Coast port has been inserted in itineraries of most cruise lines, a move that’s expected to bring tourists from different nationalities during the current year.

According to news reports, Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Real Line will include Puerto Plata as port-of-call, after the Dominican government and private sector decided to invest in remodeling, expanding and in construction of the port, where conditions and the necessary infrastructures will be created, for the ships’ arrival.

Shippers and sectors linked with the activity sustain that the Dominican Republic has what it takes in terms of security and port services, a factor that has motivated private cruising companies to access Puerto Plata, in addition to Samana and other national ports.
