Cuban Tourism Products Presented in Beijing

A meeting to promote Cuban tourism in China was held today in Beijing, attended by tourism professionals and businesses linked to tourism, who received an explanation of the characteristics of that sector in the Caribbean nation.

Some 100 businessmen met at the Caribeño restaurant, located in one of this capital's luxury hotels. There, Consul Javier Jimenez presented an overview of Cuba's human, cultural, natural and historical attractions.

Jimenez also explained the different kinds of visits Cuba offers, not restricted to sun and beach, but also including history and culture, ecotourism, offering something for everyone, also mentioning the hotel industry and its development, among other aspects.

Along with the information provided by the Consul, participants enjoyed Cuban music, dance, and gastronomy, the latter by chef Osmany Castillo, who prepared typical dishes such congris (Cuban black beans and rice), pork with onions, meat stewed in tomato sauce, tamales, and fried plantains.

In addition to the Cuban consul, Sui Yi, deputy general manager of the Chinese company Beijing Tiangjian International Travel Service Co. Ltd, who shared work experiences in Cuba, and Huo Yaofei, who has traveled to Cuba 10 times, also spoke at the event.
During the activity, Cuban ambassador to China Alberto Blanco, delivered a commemorative plaque to Sui for his work in the Cuban tourist market and presented her with an expense-paid trip to Cuba, courtesy of the Cuban Gaviota agency.
