David Calzado & Charanga Habanera, from ARTEX’s Clave Cubana, on Canadian Tour

Charanga Habanera, a Cuban band of popular dance music led by David Calzado, will arrive soon in Canada to make a number of presentations in different spots as part of a tour that kicked off April 17 and will come to a close on April 26.

Following presentations at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto on the 19th and the Commodore Ballroom Concert Hall on the 20th, the band will perform at the Club Soda Concert Hall on the 24th, in Montreal, Quebec.

Few bands can manage success from the word go. That’s the case of this celebrated bunch of talented musicians called David Calzado y la Charanga Habanera, founded in 1988 when the 10-piece band hit the same stage where music heavyweights as Stevie Wonder, Barry White, Donna Summer, James Brown, Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Charles Aznavour, Jerry Lewis, Kool and the Gang and Whitney Houston had performed before.

The band simply brought down the house. The quality of the Cuban musicians grabbed headlines and captivated spectators, the airwaves, the press and TV networks. Charanga Habanera nabbed tons of praises in each and every presentation.

The intense work worldwide made by David Calzado and his Charanga Habanera has in no way blurred the preference of the Cuban public and critics, who continue to rank it among the very best Cuban bands of popular dance music.

Now the Canadian public is having the chance to shake a leg and enjoy this band that proudly belongs to the music catalog managed by Clave Cubana, the artistic representation agency of ARTEX.

Clave Cubana wishes Charanga Habanera a very successful tour!
