Globally-renowned designer Donna Karan has listed part of her retreat in the Turks and Caicos Islands for sale, according to Christie’s International Real Estate, which has the exclusive listing on the property.

The seven-acre beachfront property has hit the market with a list price of $39 million.

“This is a property with unmistakable global appeal — an ultra-luxury hideaway with unique character and the most desirable of attributes,” said Rick Moeser, regional manager of Christie’s International Real Estate. “Given its size, scope and enviable privacy, this resort-style compound is certainly a rarity on the landscape.”

The compound, located on Parrot Cay, is an extension of “The Sanctuary,” Karan’s private island retreat. It was designed by Singapore architect Cheong Yew Kuan and completed with New York’s Bonetti/Kozerski Studio.

It includes everything from travertine baths and teak furniture to works of art from Bali to Africa. The property includes two, four-bedroom villa estates, each of which includes a second-floor master bedroom with ocean views.

“Sanctuary was custom designed to not only be a family-friendly destination for achieving balance and tranquility, but the restoration of wellness,” said Katherine Baryluk of Regency, an exclusive affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate. “With its tranquil setting and impressive scale along the turquoise western shores of Parrot Cay, this is the ultimate ‘sanctuary’ for the most discerning of buyers looking for five-star, 24-hour services on a private island.”
