Majestic America Line canceled the June 30 departure of the Empress of the North, a total of seven cancelled sailings since the sternwheeler ran aground in Alaska’s Inside Passage May 14.

The ship, which has been in drydock in Alaska since May 21, will be relocated to the Cascade General Shipyard in Portland, Ore., for additional repairs to its damaged hull. The line expects the Empress of the North to return to service on July 7.

Guests on the canceled voyages can opt for a full refund or a rebooking, plus a 25 percent discount on a future cruise and reimbursement for incidental charges. Agent commissions are protected.
