Florida Hopes to Crack the 100-Million-Visitor Plateau this Year

Beaming high on confidence, Florida hopes to welcome a record-breaking 100 million people this year, expect state tourism leaders. Beaches have always been a favorite with tourists visiting Florida.

The Palm Beach in Florida generates revenue of more than $6 billion directly and indirectly in terms of visitors spending.

With the increased number of tourists preferring beach tourism in Florida, crews are building hotels in Boca Raton, Boynton Beach and West Palm Beach, to name a few.

Tourism has also aided in job creation with experts predicting the county will add 6,000 tourism-related jobs this year.

Some of those jobs are coming to the Delray Beach Marriott. The hotel with views of the ocean, is seeing nearly 5% more business than last year and will be adding more employees this winter.

A record 97.3 million visitors traveled to Florida in 2014, the fourth consecutive record year. The improving economy and increased flights between Florida and Europe and Latin America fueled higher tourism statewide and in South Florida.
