Haiti’s Tourism Attending ITB Berlin 2014

For 2 years, the Haitian government has engaged in an extensive program of revaluation of the tourism sector to put Haiti on the world tourism map.

This year, Haiti is present in 14 international tourism fairs. After the "Caribbean Market Place" in Montego Bay, Jamaica (12-14 January 2014), the Transat Fair in Florida (January 16), the FITUR, the second world's largest tourism fair (Jan 21 to 24) Haiti is at ITB Berlin, the first tourism fair in the world (150,000 m2, 180,000 visitors and over 10,000 exhibitors) to be held from 5 to 9 March at Hall of exposure Funkturm Messedamm 1, Berlin, Germany.

Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism will participate in ITB Berlin (Hall 3.1 booth Haiti #102) The highlights of his participation will include the launch Thursday, March 6, of the Craft Village that the Ministry of Tourism will build in Milot, followed by a speech of Marlen Bakalli of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Edner Jean Nelson, National Authorizing Officer of the European Union, Taleb Rifai, Secretary General of the UNWTO and Stéphanie Villedrouin.

Friday, March 7 at the Embassy of Haiti, cocktail-debate in the presence of diplomats and ambassadors Friends of Haiti and the Haitian community (invitation by the Embassy of Haiti in Berlin), the Minister of Tourism will give a presentation entitled "Revival of Tourism in Haiti", which will be followed by a session of questions and answers.
