HAL to Sail 46 Mexico Cruises from San Diego in 2008
Holland America Line increased to 15 the number of 10-day cruises it will offer on the Ryndam through Mexico’s Sea of Cortez in 2008, four more than in 2007.
The 1,258-guest Ryndam will operate the itineraries from San Diego in the spring and fall of 2008; the ship will sail eight cruises departing from February 5 to April 15 and seven from October 12 to December 11. The ship will visit Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Topolobampo, Loreto, La Paz and Cabo San Lucas.
The Sea of Cortez, also called the Gulf of California, separates mainland Mexico from the Baja California peninsula. HAL said it is the only premium cruise line that sails to the Sea of Cortez and the only line visiting the ports of Loreto and Topolobampo.
In addition, the Ryndam will also sail three Mexican Riviera cruises in 2008 and HAL’s Oosterdam will continue running seven-day Mexican Riviera voyages, sailing a total of 28 in 2008. In total, HAL said it will offer 46 Mexico cruises from San Diego in 2008.
The Ryndam’s 2008 Mexican Riviera sailings include a 12-day itinerary departing April 25 en route to Vancouver, and calling at Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, La Paz and Cabo San Lucas before cruising up the West Coast. On September 24, the Ryndam sails the reverse itinerary from Vancouver to San Diego on an 11-day Mexican Riviera cruise, calling at the same ports but skipping the stop in La Paz, HAL said.
The Ryndam also will offer one seven-day Mexican Riviera cruise on October 5, which highlights Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas, before beginning its 10-day, fall Sea of Cortez sailings.
