Hurricane Maria Forces Carnival to Make Changes

As Hurricane Maria nears the Leeward Islands, Carnival Cruise Line has adjusted itineraries, some of them for the second time in five days.

Carnival Glory's Sept. 16 cruise will shift from the eastern Caribbean to the west, with port calls in Ocho Rios, Jamaica; Grand Cayman Roatan, Honduras; and Cozumel, Mexico. Last week, Carnival reset Glory's eastern Caribbean itinerary to skip St. Thomas, which was devastated by Hurricane Irma.

Likewise, the Sept. 16 departure of Carnival Magic will now visit Amber Cove, Dominican Republic; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Grand Cayman; and Cozumel. After departing Port Canaveral, the eight-day cruise was expected to stop in Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Kitts, and Antigua (substituting for hurricane-wracked St. Maarten), all in the eastern Caribbean.

Carnival Fascination's Sept. 17 departure from San Juan will now operate to Grenada, Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua and St. Kitts.

Carnival confirmed that the Carnival Victory, departing Miami on Monday Sept. 18, will operate a four-day cruise to Cozumel, skipping a scheduled stop at Key West.
