Sunset Resorts, operators of Sunset Beach Resort & Spa in Montego Bay, Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort & Spa in Ocho Rios and Sunset at the Palms in Negril, has made assessments of all three of the company’s North Coast Jamaica properties. Sunset Jamaica Grande, Ocho Rios, sustained no damage.
The hotel is fully operational and remains open for all guest arrivals. Sunset at the Palms, Negril, reported no structural damage, but some landscaping damage. Guests were relocated from the resort on Aug. 28 and were accommodated at Sunset Beach Resort & Spa. The hotel reopened for arrivals Aug. 30.
Sunset Beach Resort & Spa, Montego Bay, suffered no damage and a clean-up of minor debris is in progress. The hotel is fully operational and remains open for all guest arrivals. Due to the disruption of airline flight operating schedules, it is strongly recommended that all arriving guests should contact their airline to re-confirm their flights.
Sunset Resorts maintains a detailed Hurricane Preparedness Plan, which went into effect as soon as the threat of the storm was announced. Staff and management at all three properties had taken all precautions to keep guests safe, comfortable, and well informed.
