Jamaica’s Tourist Arrivals Remain Hot

In a recent release from his ministry, Jamaican Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett explained that provisional data offered by the Jamaica Tourist Board, or JTB, have been showing an approximate seven percent growth in the number of stopover tourists for January in comparison to the same month in 2017.
This has been the outcome in spite of reports in the international media in terms of current improved security measures, comprising the state of public emergency as announced in St. James during mid-January to control the growth of violence, predominantly close to Montego Bay, along with travel advisories issued by overseas embassies.
As per the release, Jamaica keeps on benefitting from “a raft of high-profile visits by celebrities”, varying from pop music stars to former US President Bill Clinton.
It’s being said that, on the heels of the island copping the Leading Wedding Destination award at the World Travel Awards in Vietnam, pop stars Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are in Montego Bay to attend the wedding of Bieber’s father, Jeremy, and his new stepmother Chelsey Rebelo.
This weekend Bartlett will be given his Caribbean tourism minister of the year award from Caribbean Journal.
It emphasized that high-profile visitors to the island allow the destination to successfully publicize its miscellaneous offerings to the exact demographics, while displaying the island as a “must-do” for a great vacation experience.
