London Mayor Opened WTM 2009 with Keynote Speech

London mayor Boris Johnson addressed the world travel industry at the World Travel Market (WTM) this Monday.

The premier business-to-business event for the international travel and tourism industry, WTM is taking place at ExCel, London this week. The event facilitates millions of pounds of international business, while also pinpoints new UK and global industry trends.

The opening was attended by Tourism Ministers, Ambassadors, industry leaders and senior management. Mr. Johnson addressed the opening of the 30th anniversary of the event on Monday.

Last year’s event was disrupted by travel chaos as London Underground’s Jubilee Line and the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) both experienced severe delays. The events led Mr. Johnson to promise improvements this year.
