The Los Cabos Convention & Visitors Bureau said the destination was spared significant impact from Hurricane Jimena. Hotels and resorts are fully operational and all tourism services throughout Los Cabos have resumed.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Jimena was officially downgraded to Category 2 status overnight as it traveled in a northwest direction away from Los Cabos.

Additionally, the Mexican government has discontinued the hurricane warning for the entire southern part of the Baja California peninsula, the location of the resort destination. Forecasters predict that Jimena will continue to weaken as it moves inland.

From the beginning, the Los Cabos Convention & Visitors Bureau said it was well prepared for the approach of Hurricane Jimena. The municipality of Los Cabos did not lose electricity throughout the duration of the storm and there have been no reports of injuries. Additionally, the San Jose del Cabo International Airport (SJD) and the Port of Los Cabos have reopened.

The 237-suite beachfront Marquis Los Cabos Resort, located on the southernmost tip of the Baja California peninsula, has reopened for business as usual following Hurricane Jimena, which passed just west of the Los Cabos corridor.

Every precaution was made prior to and during Hurricane Jimena and the resort reports that there has been no damage to the property. It is business as usual in Los Cabos as many visitors remain in the destination continuing to enjoy their holiday.
